Among the clearest signs of Syria's reconnection to the global technology economy is the return of major vendors. Nokia has come back to partner with the Syrian government on modernizing national networks and trialling 5G services.

What a vendor return signals

Global equipment makers bring not just hardware but financing structures, standards and supply chains. Their participation is often a prerequisite for building modern mobile networks at scale — and a signal to other investors that the market is open for business again.

It sits alongside the stc-led Silklink fibre project and the BarqNet broadband initiative as part of a coordinated rebuild of Syria's core connectivity.
