HUMAIN, an artificial-intelligence venture from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), has become one of the world's largest AI investments. It pairs national compute build-out with its own large language model, ALLaM, and partnerships with global chip and cloud players.

The build-out

  • Major data-centre facilities in Riyadh and Dammam, with early capacity coming online through 2026.
  • An ambition to reach roughly 6 gigawatts of data-centre capacity over the next decade.
  • Land secured for large-scale data centres, plus engineering partnerships (e.g. a Qualcomm AI centre in Riyadh).

Saudi Arabia has framed 2026 as a 'Year of AI', with a multi-billion-dollar strategy. Alongside the UAE's Stargate and sovereign models, it makes the Gulf one of the most active regions on earth for AI infrastructure.
